I am researcher who works predominantly in the field of theoretical EconCS. I am currently a Postdoctoral researcher in CS department at Boston College, being advised by Prof. Jessie Finocchiaro and Prof. Francisco J. Marmolejo-Cossío. Prior to this, I obtained my PhD in Computer Science from University of Colorado, Boulder under the supervision of Prof. Bo Waggoner. I hold a M.A. in Economics from Delhi School of Economics and a B.Tech from IIIT, Hyderabad.

Research interests

While interested in several topics in theoretical EconCS, my research focuses on 1) eliciting and quantifying value of information and 2) Incentive design in blockchains.

1) The information I particularly focus on is an individual’s private beliefs about a future event. My research focuses on designing the right payments to incentivize truthful revelation of individual’s beliefs. Occasionally these tools might be contracts, but more often are Scoring Rules. These tools give access to different types of elicitation mechanisms: Is the prediction one-shot or does it need to run as a continual market to incorporate potential information revealed over time (Prediction Markets)? Can the market maker bear the potential loss or does the mechanism need to be budget-balanced (wagering mechanisms)? Most of these mechanisms have several interesting research questions in them.

2) I have been recently interested in various incentive problems in blockchain technologies. My work provides insights into Liquidity Provisioning that Decentralized Finance deploys and also makes some of the Decentralized Finance algorithms computationally practical.

My work also establishes a cool connection between these two fields (see Frongillo et. al. 2024).
